The Dieter W. Baeuerle Foundation is announcing the

Dieter W. Baeuerle Prize 2026 for Fundamentals and Applications of Laser-Matter-Interaction.

The prize will be awarded to young scientists up to ten years after completion of their doctoral dissertation or PhD study. Scientific research dealing with the fundamentals and applications of Laser-Matter Interaction in Physics, Chemistry, Life Science, Medicine and Art shall be awarded. The prize money is 10,000.00 Euro.

Personal applications are eligible. In this case, two letters of recommendation are required. In case of a nomination, at least one additional letter of recommendation is required. Recommendation letters shall be submitted in time directly from the referees to the foundation The closing date for applications is 31st of July 2026.

The prizewinners will be selected by the advisory board and the presidium of the foundation. The decision is final. The legal process is excluded.

The award ceremony will be part of a festive event at the Johannes Kepler University Linz in November 2026. The award winner is expected to receive the award in person.
